From Mallorca into the world: Timo Bracht will start in Frankfurt and Normann Stadler in Roth/ Next races for the Commerzbank athletes already in the end of April

Until yesterday, the whole Commerzbank Triathlon Team has been staying in a training camp in Mallorca to prepare for the season. With Marino Vanhoenacker winning in Malaysia, the team already celebrated a perfect start into the triathlon season 2010 in the end of February. Further highlights where Commerzbank athletes take part are for example Ironman Germany, Challenge Roth, Ironman Austria, Ironman Switzerland, Ironman USA and of course the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii.

On July 4th, Timo Bracht is going to defend his title at Ironman Germany in Frankfurt and to take a page in history book by winning his third European Champion Title. “Maybe this will be the most important season of my life”, said Bracht who looks back on his most successful year ever and wants to perform even better in 2010. Having finished sixth in Hawaii 2009, he is already qualified for the next Ironman World Championship.

On July 18th, the double Hawaii Champion Normann Stadler will race at Challenge Roth where he finished fourth last year. “That will be an exciting battle between world class triathletes”, said Stadler. Facing competitors like Eneko Llanos, Michael Göhner, Rutger Beke, Rasmus Henning or his former team colleague Scott Neyedli, the athlete from Mannheim is looking forward to an international showdown in three months.

Marino Vanhoenacker has already qualified for Hawaii by winning Ironman Malaysia. At Ironman Austria on July 4th, the Belgian wants to celebrate his fifth consecutive victory in Klagenfurt. His team colleagues Mathias Hecht and Jan Raphael represent the Commerzbank colours already at Ironman South Africa on April 25th in order to fight for an early Hawaii ticket. Mathias Hecht who finished 13th in Hawaii last year and fifth at Ironman Germany, has integrated Ironman Switzerland in his race calendar as well and is notably motivated to show an extraordinary performance in his home country. The second Ironman race for Jan Raphael is Ironman Germany where he reached a fourth and sixth place in the past.

Maik Twelsiek, the titleholder of Ironman USA Lake Placid, is going to repeat this success on July 25th. Before this race, the German from Lemgo will go for an early Hawaii qualification at Ironman Lanzarote on May 22nd. Markus Fachbach has the same target in mind at Ironman Austria on July 4th. Team manager Jan Wendt: “Despite the high standards resulting from last year’s good performance, we aim for even better results this season. Marino’s outstanding victory in Malaysia was an excellent start into the 2010 season.”
