Start into the season for Markus Fachbach and Maik Twelsiek at Ironman China and Abu Dhabi International Triathlon

Two further Commerzbank athletes will try to start successfully into the triathlon season after their teammate Marino Vanhoenacker has won Ironman Malaysia on Saturday: Markus Fachbach will be out to qualify for Hawaii at Ironman China on March 14th. One day before, Maik Twelsiek’s kick-off into the season is the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon over 3km swim, 200km bike and 20 km run.

Markus Fachbach, the youngster of the Commerzbank Triathlon Team, will compete against Chris McCormack, Hawaii Champion of 2007 and European Champion of 2008. Furthermore the starting list of Ironman China contains the Swiss Maik Schifferle (3rd in 2009) and the Hungarian Joszef Major (4th last year). In Abu Dhabi, the German Maik Twelsiek will encount his compatriot Faris Al-Sultan (Ironman Hawaii winner 2005), Eneko Llanos from Spain (2nd in Hawaii 2008), Rasmus Henning from Denmark (5th in Hawaii 2008) and Rutger Beke from Belgium (3rd in Hawaii 2008).
