Pip wins Vineman 70.3
19 July 2009: Pip has won the Vineman 70.3 Triathlon held in the Sonoma Valley California. Exiting the swim 30 seconds behind current Ironman 70.3 World Champion Joanna Zeiger, Pip moved to the front on the bike to reach T2 with an almost 3 minute lead.
On the run, Pip felt comfortable and moved out to a 4 minute lead until a calf cramp in the final half mile slowed her progress to a limp down the finish chute.
Finishing in 2nd place was current Ironman Coeur d'Alene Champion Tyler Stewart with current Ironman Brazil Champion Dede Griesbauer in 3rd.
Pip said "Well it was not the most glamorous way to cross the line, but all up I felt great out there. I loved the course and felt in control all day".
Pip now moves her focus to the second race of the Life Time Fitness Triathlon Series in New York this coming Sunday.
